Here in the South - West of Romania, in the heart of the Carpathian mountains we are spoiled for choice of which  walk to choose from the thousands of km of endless trails, across hills and meadows and mountain tracks.

The trails vary in length and difficulty, to suit all ages, starting from our mountain guesthouse.

The amount of trails ensures that different walks are encountered each day.

A normal walking week would start with the first day on a route from our guesthouse across a mountain range of approx. 1000m of rolling hills and beautiful views, you will encounter friendly shepherds and occasional families living in their mountain houses.

The means of orientation in this huge area are by detailed maps showing trails and tracks across the mountains on a scale of 1- 100,000

To ensure different walks each day, we have transportation for drop off and pick up points, which allows different walks on different mountain ranges, the area is so vast that there are many beautiful mountain walks to choose from. A short distance transfer gives the choice of length of walk in mountains from 1500m to 2350m altitude.

We also offer the alternative of a walk through the mountains with overnight stays in mountain huts or guesthouses.

Carol our local English speaking guide knows the area completely and is very knowledgeable about local landmarks and history.

If you wish to walk without a guide we can provide GPS Coordinated maps with marked waypoints.

Whilst walking you will occasionally come across people of all ages, tending livestock and families travelling on horse and cart. They are always pleased to see you and to share some fresh picked produce with you.

Wildlife is abundant, you are likely to see deer, wild horses, foxes, birds of prey and lots of bird life.

Mostly the sun shines, in the mountains, the temperature is O.K. for walking because of a light breeze.
